Slacker tip #203 - Start a recycling program at work
Before you say that this sounds like more work, just hear me out.
Everyone is all about going green these days. So, if your office does not recycle things like cans or paper or toner/ink cartridges from the printers & copiers then you can use this tip.
Ask your boss or HR if it is okay to start a recycling program. Tell them that you will collect the stuff weekly and make sure that it gets taken to a recycle facility. Chances are pretty high that they will go for this as it is green and it makes you look like a saint. There are a few perks to this little plan:
1. You get approved non-working time each week when you get to collect the recyclable items.
2. You may be able to make cash off this - i.e. aluminum cans = $$
3. You may get free paper at Office Depot or the like - i.e. office supply stores take empty printer cartridges to recycle and they give you free reams of paper in return.
4. You may get a date with that hottie that’s into environmental causes.
