The typical reason slackers are fired from jobs
I am proud to say that I have been in the workforce over 15 years and have rarely worked at my jobs. I used to think that if I was well compensated that things might change. After making close to $60,000 at my most recent job I realized that I am a life-long slacker.
I have gotten to the point in my professional slacking career that I can slack at a job without getting caught and have people actually sad that my temp position is over. In fact, my most recent position was filling in for someone on maternity leave and when she came back they actually tried to find a permanent position for me. What they don’t know is that I regularly came in 45 minutes late, left 45 minutes early and took three hour lunches. And the short amount of time that I was sitting at a desk was spent on the internet. Ah, good times.
In the past though my slacking ways would get discovered and I would be out the door. And it was the same reason every single time. And it is probably the same for slackers everywhere.
Excess internet usage.
Fortunately, with Blackberries and iPhones we slackers can now spend our time on the web completely undetected. And for when you get poor cell service, I suggest a USB drive with Firefox on it that you can launch for browsing.
