Slacker tip #190 -Check your employment history report
If you are applying for a job, and you have a history of getting fired for being a slacker (like me), then your first instinct is likely to lie a little bit on your resume. I know, we all do it. But guess what?
Did you know that employers can actually pull an employment history report on you? And this little report will list previous jobs and how long you were at them. The good news is that not all employers report this info. The even better news is that you can get this report on yourself for free once a year. ChoiceTrust is the company that handles these reports. They have a phone number you have to call to get the report. I’m not sure what info they want from you to verify your identity and get a report, but I would be hesitant to give them any past job info as you may give them info they do not already have.
I’ve never gotten this little report, but it may be useful for some of you.
