CareerBuilder recently did an article on what they thought were amusing late excuses. Actually, what is amusing is that someone thought these excuses would work.

I walked into a spider web on the way out the door and couldn’t find the spider, so I had to go inside and shower again.
Right. This is really an odd one. I think something as simple as “I spilled coffee all over myself on the way out the door and had to change and cleanup” would be better.
