Imaginative Excuses for Coming in Late
Sometimes, the thought of getting out of bed when the sun is still down just to go to work is too much to bear. And us slackers are not the only ones that feel this way about work and mornings. A recent CareerBuilder article focused on this growing “epidemic.” A whopping fifteen percent of workers admit to arriving late at least once a week.
Late excuses seem to be pretty common across the board though.
- 32% blame traffic gridlock.
- 17% cite lack of sleep as the reason.
- 7% blame needing to get their children ready for school or day care.
And the best statistic is that 24% of all employees decide to make up a fake excuse rather than tell the truth. Sadly though, fiction is not their strong point. Stay tuned for 10 excuses that were actually used by people for being late.
