Being sick excuse #42 - taking the kid to college
Want to miss a few days of work? Well, if you are old enough to have a kid in college then this is an easy one to use. And I suspect you could also get away with it by saying it is your niece/nephew or sibling as well.
Tell you boss you have to take your “kid” to college. Pick a college that is out of state. Research when they have their freshmen orientation so that you will have a correct date that your “kid” has to be there. There is no boss that will tell you that you can’t take your “kid” to college. So, enjoy that long weekend you just earned.
