Slacker tip #144 - don’t be on TV when you are supposed to be at work

Posted by: the complete slacker on Sunday, February 17th, 2008

You may remember from my last tip (Slacker tip #143 - manipulate your email timestamp) that I was leaving work early on Thursday.

Well, the reason that I was sneaking out of work early was to go to a Hillary Clinton rally. And guess what, there were news crews there. And guess who ended up in the front right by the stage?

Yes, that was exciting.

Until I watched the news the next morning only discover I was getting my 15 minutes of fame. That means if my boss watched the news then she saw it too.

Now the funniest thing about this is that it is the second time that I have done something like this. One time I called into work and drove to NYC to see a Today show taping. And yes, I ended up on television that morning too.

So, if you are going to skip work, make sure that you are not going to be some place where there are TV cameras. And if you are, then make sure you have a disguise.
