Slacker tip #143 - manipulate your email timestamp
After getting to work today I have decided that I want to leave early. Now, I know that my boss will not allow that. That means I have to get creative.
So, here’s what I’m doing.
I’m sneaking out down the stairwell at 1:45pm. It won’t really be sneaking cause if she sees or hears me she’ll just think I’m going to lunch. Then at 2:00pm she’ll get an email in her inbox from me that says I have left for the day. Genius, no?
Here’s how you can do this too:
Open up a new message in MS Outlook. Look for the “options” button.
![]()

And once you get to options it will look like this. Only you will need to put the check mark beside “Do not deliver before”

Then just pick your time and that is it!
