Slacker tip #142 - snow day!

Posted by: the complete slacker on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

As a kid I used to love waking up to hear the news that there was a snow day!

Sadly as adults we do not get snow days. That’s why I like to just take them anyways. This is especially easy if you live in the South. Why? Because just the mention of snow sends them into a mad dash to the grocery store. And 2.3 seconds later there is no milk or bread left in the store. Snow creates panic in the South, which is why it is easy to take snow days there. They are horrible about cleaning the roads when it snows anyways, so you really don’t want to be out.

I live in the North now. Taking snow days here is not so easy. But today I am taking one. You see, ass-deep snow was predicted to hit here today. It was not quite ass-deep as ankle deep though. However, the news said more is expected this afternoon. I think that qualifies as a snow day. And lucky for me I just happened to be in the part of the city that is expected to have the most snow.

But taking a snow day up north can be hard. So, I suggest trying out this line:

My car doors are frozen shut so I can’t come in.

It is a likely scenario, it doesn’t require a doctor’s note and it really means that you can’t get to work.
