Slacker tip #137 - volunteer to work overtime when no one else wants to
I hate working. I hate working overtime. But me loves me some overtime pay! Those paychecks are the sweetest. And they are even sweeter when you know you didn’t even do 5 hours worth of work that week, let alone more than 40 hours worth of work!
If you have a job where there is an opportunity for overtime monthly then you can really maximize your getting paid to do nothing.
In fact, tomorrow I will be working on a Saturday and making over $30 an hour. I will be in the office alone. I will be doing everything but working. Then I will get a nice fat paycheck for all of that “work.” Muah hahahahaha.
Now, I have a badge that lets me into the office when no one else is there. Clearly you need to have a job that you can access without needing someone else to let you in to be able to be as cool as me.
First off - most people (at least in my experience) would rather stay late during the week than give up a weekend day to come in for some overtime.
However there are a few douche bags that have no life and love work so much that they would rather be sweating it out for the man instead of hanging with their peeps over the weekend. Probably because they are douche bags and have no peeps.
So - to avoid those douche bags you have to get your slacker ass up early! Why? Because if you beat everyone to the office then no one will know what time you got there! That means you can put an earlier time on your timesheet. Of course, if you have one of those clock-in computers that won’t matter. But this will - you will get your OT time out of the way before the co-workers get there. And if you’re alone there is no one there to make sure you are working.
