Slacker tip #129 – use words that make you sound all about work
This past week I hit upon a new tip.
See, my boss wanted me to work late the Friday before Christmas and this slacker was not down with that. So, I basically bailed at the last minute, leaving no room for discussion or reprimanding.
Fast forward to the day after Christmas, when I was back at work with the boss. We had a little chat about my “behavior” and how it was unprofessional and how it reflected that I was not serious about the position, and so on and so on.
While this slacker is all about slacking I am also all about fat paychecks. That means I need to keep this job. So, what does a slacker do when in hot water? Get creative.
And that brings us to the new tip.
I mentioned how I was frustrated with the inefficiency of the department. I told her how I felt that things were not done in the most cost effective manner, which lead to a lot of extra work and time wasting. I suggested that there needed to be some streamlining of some of the processes.
And that is how I saved my job and became the rockstar of the department. Of course, I also got to add “look for ways to streamline processes” to my monthly duties list, but still…
