Slacker tip #124 – keep a tablet or notebook at all times

This is a really good tip from Dismantle My Bed. And keep in mind that you do not have to use this little notebook or tablet for writing your novel. You can use it to doodle. Sketch a funny caricature of your skanky boss. Hilarity will ensue.

Anyways, here’s the rest of the tip from Dismantle My Bed…

Keep a tablet of information.

At any new job, the first thing I ask for is a legal pad or steno book. I use this legal pad or steno book to jot down anything I learn, and will need to reference later, while learning this new job. But that’s not all. This pad of paper serves an important purpose. First off, if you write something leading on the front of it like, I don’t know, for instance, Riley’s lean mean reference machine, then every time you open it and write something down, everyone in the office just assumes you are writing down something job related. Suckers. But also, that pad is an excellent place to hide little pieces of paper that hold other things you are working on. I keep anything I might need a quick glance of right within that pad’s pages. It makes it easy to sneak a peek.
