Slacker tip #116 - the higher the salary the less time for slacking
This might not exactly be groundbreaking news to you - but the more your salary increases, the less slacking you can expect to get done.
See, at one time I had a job that paid pretty decent. It paid the bills, but it by no means paid me what I was worth. But I happily kept that job because I had internet access that allowed me to earn extra cash online while getting paid to work. It was a sweet gig while it lasted.
From that job I went to a position that was a salary increase of around $12,000. That is one sweet payday. But with that payday comes a price. Not enough time to be a slacker. And there is also a boss that expects you to have no life or other responsibilities outside of work. You are expected to be at work early and stay late. You are to lunch with your co-workers and you are not to take off any time for the holidays.
Having a high paying job will make you wish for the $12,000 pay cut and the job with more freedom.
