Slacker tip #115 - don’t ride to company meetings with co-workers
Want to know another lesson I have learned about slacking at work?
If you have to travel to a meeting or a training session or something for work during work hours - don’t ride with anyone. Do not go in the company car. Do not ride with co-workers. Do not. Do not. Do not. I repeat, do not do this.
For starters, you can’t fudge your timesheet if you are riding with someone.
You can’t leave early if you are riding with someone.
You can’t make an impromptu stop at an outlet mall that you are passing if you are riding with someone.
You can’t stop for ice cream if you are riding with someone.
If you are riding with someone, they will want to talk about work. The entire 1.5 hour drive to your destination. And on the entire 1.5 hour drive back.
You might end up having to ride with a co-worker that is having hot flashes. Here is how that plays out - it is around 45 degrees outside and she gets hot. So, she puts down the window and cranks the AC. You are not a woman having hot flashes, so you freeze your damn ass off.
You might end up with a gassy co-worker. Here is how that plays out - she tells you (only God knows why) that she is never this gassy and she simply must take some Beano when she gets home. Then you smack yourself in the head as you realize your 1.5 hour drive has only jut begun and you have to also ride back with this person.
Today’s lesson, kids, is never ride with anyone from work for any reason. It can only work against you and keep you from rocking out.
