Slacker tip #106 – don’t take off obvious days

Posted by: the complete slacker on Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

As a slacker myself, I know what it is like to really not want to get up and go into the office. I call into work a lot. And I suspect that you do as well, or at least you dream about it. I try to limit my calling in to times that I can get paid for it with PTO or sick day pay though.

If you want to call into work and not get in trouble for it or not get asked for a doctor’s note, there is one thing you should remember. Do not call in on days where it is obvious that you are just calling in to call in. This means do not call in on Mondays and Fridays. It is too suspect.

Why?

Because everyone and their brother wants a long weekend. Including your boss. And if you boss can’t have the long weekend that jealous bastard is not going to let you get away with it too.

So, whenever possible, leave your calling in to Tuesdays through Thursdays.

Why?

Because people think that no one would waste calling in during the week because they would still have to come back to work the next day.

Suckers, show what they know!
