Slacker tip #105 - do everything on your co-workers pet peeves list
Just last week I was telling you that a great way to get left alone at work was to do things to annoy your co-workers. Because if they do not like you then they will not stop by your cubicle and then no one will see you playing Tetris online.
Randstad, one of those nasty temporary placement agencies, recently conducted a poll on the top office pet peeves. Thanks to them, you can see what exactly it is that is on people’s pet peeves list.
The top pet peeve? Gossiping. That is amazing, since so many people at work gossip. I wonder if the gossipers said they hated gossip?
The number 2 pet peeve should really just have said : Complete Slackers. Seems people do not like what they called “ppor time management” which is really just people making personal phone calls at work and people playing on the internet at work. Poor babies.
And the rest of the pet peeves…
Messiness in communal spaces, such as unwashed dishes in the kitchen sinks, irked 45 percent of respondent while potent smells like perfume, food, or smoke, came in fourth in the list with 42 percent.
Rounding out the list of seven office peeves came loud noises such as speaker phones, loud talking and loud phone ring tones at 41 percent, overuse of electronic personal communications devices in meetings at 28 percent and misuse of e-mail at 22 percent.
This brings up an excellent point I have never mentioned - set your ringer on your phone really loud to annoy people! Hooray!
