Being sick excuse #14 – sun poisoning

Sure, summer is pretty much over so you might not be able to use ‘sun poisoning’ as an excuse till next year. But where I live it was sunny and 85 degrees out today and after spending all day outside I got one hell of a sunburn. Not to mention a funny line across the ole forehead from a hat. Needless to say, I would not want to be going to work looking like this.

That is where sun poisoning comes in. You should probably have a sunburn when you go back to work though. Just keep that in mind.

Symptoms of sun poisoning are the following: fever, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, red skin rash or chills.

According to Net Wellness, women are more susceptible to it than men. And of course if you have red hair then you are more susceptible.

How long does it last?

In my experience, the vomiting part only lasts a day. Now the red skin rash is usually blister like and that can last for a few days.  So if you want to milk this for more than one day go with the blisters.

And remember, show back up to work with a little sunburn.
