Slacker tip #43 - how to contribute the bare minumum to the office potluck
Tomorrow I have an office potluck where I am expected to bring a food item of some sort. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on it and I don’t want to devote a lot of time to making something.
So, in true slacker form, I have the cheapest and easiest option there is, well, besides not participating.
Brownies. Specifically Little Debbie Brownies. Before you stop reading let me explain - see, it’s all about the presentation.
What I will do tonight, is unwrap all of the brownies. And if you are familiar with them, then you know that two are stuck together. So, I will break them apart. Then, I will wrap them in foil, as if I took them right out of the baking dish and put them in foil. And I will stack them up and wrap them in the foil like I’m sure you’ve seen people do. The cost? $1.21.
It’s a win-win. The office gluttons get brownies, I don’t get shit on for not participating and I get out for under $2.00. Try it next time you have an office potluck. Or maybe even a family event where you need to bring food.
