Slacker tip #39 - yet another way to access blocked sites at work

Just last week I had to attend a department meeting about employees abusing the internet. Guilty as charged. Apparently, office computers are only to be used for office related things. Bah! Pish posh to that.

While I would like to march across the street and heckle the lowlife IT guys that tattle on everyone that uses the internet, I have instead found a new way to access blocked sites.

You can access blocked sites using www.workfriendly.net without getting busted. Unless the internet nazis have appointed your their target and have remoted in to watch your every move.

Here’s how it works - you go to workfriendly.net and key in the web address that is forbidden to you. Then click the Office Space inspired ‘Is This Good For the Company?’ button. You’ll get a pop up window that is a totally graphics free version of the site, masquerading as a Word document. Now, if the site you had in mind was smut, this won’t work since there’s no graphics. But if reading a blog like this one or Gawker is your thing, then you’re in luck.
