Slacker tip #25 - Access blocked sites at work

Posted by: the complete slacker on Friday, April 20th, 2007

Want to access a site that is blocked at work? No problem! Just use Google translate, or another translation website.

For me, I want to check my email at work, but Gmail is blocked, as evidenced by this screen cap –>
Gmail is forbidden :(

So, I hop over to Google translate and key in the gmail website address under ‘translate a website’ –>
Google translate, step 1

Then, it chugs away. –>
Google translate, step 2 Note that there is no ‘english - english’ option, so I have chosen espanol to english. Here is the translate web address, modified with english - english in case you are lazy & want to cut and paste - remember to put in the web address you want to go to: http://www.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgmail.google.com&langpair=en%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8

And finally, you will see that I was indeed successful in my pursuit of accessing my gmail –>
Gmail success!
