Slacker tip #24 - Do the bare minimum
Everyone loves getting something for nothing, including your boss. If they can trick you into doing the work of two people while only paying you one salary, then they will do it in a heartbeat. That’s why you only should do the bare minimum to keep yourself employed. By doing this you will avoid setting up high expectations for yourself.
If you can type 75 words per minute, but the minimum requirements for your data entry job are only 40 words per minute, then slow it down. Remember, you get paid by the hour my friend.
What could happen if you don’t do the bare minimum? You’ll be doing the work of any army while everyone else gets away with only doing their share. And when you try to get away with doing as little as they do, you’ll get reprimanded as you’ve set the expectation that you can do more. Silly you.
So, doing the bare minimum has a slight chance of resulting in you getting let go. Big deal, then you can really get paid to do nothing as you collect unemployment!
