Slacker tip #21 - Get yourself a jump drive

Posted by: the complete slacker on Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Piggybacking on tip #20, any decent slacker knows the value of a jump drive, or USB drive.

Jump drives can serve a variety of purposes. As tip #20 mentioned, you can run games like solitaire from a disk or a jump drive. If you do not have internet access at your work then you can store thinks like e-books on your jump drive. Maybe download some fan fiction into Word and throw it on the jump drive.

Or if you are doing things like writing articles for Associated Content at work (like me), then you’ll want a safe place to save your work. This is where the jump drive comes in handy.

Or say you discover that some idiot in HR saved an excel file to the shared drive that lists everyone in the company’s salary. You can save that to your jump drive like I did. File here - names changed to gender specifier Then you can see how much more your idiot co-worker makes than you do.

Depending on the size of your jump drive, you can store mp3s, movies or smutty pictures for your viewing pleasure at work.
