Sometimes I watch shows like Law & Order or CSI and think, ‘wow, they are giving people a blueprint on how to create the perfect crime.’

Today I found a site that gives employers tips on how to tell if the employee is using a fake doctor’s note. Thank you ScumDoctor.com for providing a blueprint for success using a fake doctor’s note.

In case you do not want to follow the link above, tips are as follows:

Spot Fake Doctors Sick Note

Many people try to get out of work and responsibility. Many of them will hand you fake doctors sick note. But often, these people can be spotted.

**If someone has been really sick, you will find lingering symptoms when they return to work/school. For example, they tell you that they have a cold, you should expect them to cough here and there when they return to work. Someone who is faking it will probably act normal.
**Check the work. The person were sick from the real sickness will be keen to do their work at the first opportunity. They probably want to prove that they were not faking. However, the person who fake the illness will probably not want to finish their work.
**Call the doctor. When they hand in the doctor sick note, you should make sure that it has the number to call. If you suspect that they are faking it, you can ring their doctor during the day. If you ring in the evening, their sister may fool you.
**Comparing the hand writing to older sick note. See if you can find anything suspicious. Sometime people will forget what they say. If you have their older sick note, it will help a lot.
