Being sick excuses #1 - the Migraine
The migraine seems to be the most common call-in excuse at work. It should be used sparingly because of this though. There are also a lot of people that do not really have a clue in regards to the true pain of a migraine and dismiss it as ‘just having a headache.’ If one of these people is your boss, then I suggest not using this excuse.
Excuse - Migraine
Symptoms - Super headache, sensitivity to light, naseau which will most likely lead to vomiting, fatigue, sensitivity to sound.
Limitations - Cannot email in to the boss that you are sick as if you truly had a migraine then you would not be at a computer as the brightness of the screen would about kill you.
Time - You can only get 1 day out of this and should appear tired the following day as a migraine really gives you a beating.
Dialogue - Upon returning to work, you will most likely be asked if you feel better, to which you reply that you always feel better after you throw up whenever you get migraines.
Frequency - You really shouldn’t do this more than once every month - two months to make it look believeable.
Action - When you call in, talk in a low, sickly sounding voice as you are supposed to be sensitive to loud noises and feeling as if you are going to vomit at any moment.
Notes - Typical headache pain medicine is not effective on migraines, however caffeine and hot black coffee have been known to ease the pain and symptoms.
